There are several ways to find out the real talent from thousands of people. For example, scrutinizing the job posting and employee referrals are some of the practical ways to make the proper recruitment. However, as they are reactive, you have to act wisely. Wait for the right one to come to you because you cannot identify them from a bunch of candidates. Focus on individual's behavior, gesture, posture, and the way the present themselves. Thus, you can find out the ideal candidates. Make an active pipeline to fill today's requirements, build up strong connections for hard-to-fill roles and meet the future demands. You have to be energetic and dedicated for recruiting the right one in your company. Here is what I have learned while working as a sourcing role – 1. Sometimes, you do not find out the right person available to you. However, some suppliers want to invest in something exceptional from the mainstream products. For example, some mill owners like to help other companies to make premium jersey whereas many marketers do not even interested in buying it! 2. Most of the garment industries are small. This is very surprising, but the employees' dedication and a shared vision have made it possible to make a connection between their time and effort. 3. You may have a tendency to utilize the imprisoned employers when you do not have enough infrastructures and a production floor for running the manufacturing process. Reveal your production capacity to them who lack sufficient resources for vertical integration. 4. Dream big but always start with small attempts. For example, you can start with the basic attire of a man such as a white t-shirt. You may need few years (depending on your effectiveness) to produce a fabric, fundraising, and ensure production facilities. Do not start with complicated things because you may lose hope at a certain point. That is why big brands do not exceed the limit of ethical sourcing. 5. Though you feel comfortable with sustainable and high-quality fabrics, suppliers may offer you products that make you rethink about your values for a lower price point. The top brands follow two things i.e. sustainability and ethics. However, when they make decisions based on price, it becomes difficult to know how much dedicated they are towards their commitment to your values. Keep your focus on quality to get the attention of real partners. It will help you establish your brand even if it is tiny! 6. Now, the organic cotton crop is cultivated in only 1% farm. It is tough for the farmers to move to organic production and it may take years for this! We should respect the American farmers who have decided to follow sustainable methods because it is as important as using certified organic cotton. Bottom Line Collecting the ethical and durable materials is difficult yet good for a manufacturing company. Industries offering low prices and consumption habits come up with a great cost to communities throughout the world. Be generous and pay more to be a part of equitable supply chain.
